The Green Brigade have announced plans to mark the anniversary of Celtic icon Tommy Burns' passing at Rugby Park tomorrow night.

The Hoops are just one point away from being crowned champions and their title could even be gift-wrapped tonight if Rangers fail to beat Dundee at Ibrox. Almost 4,000 of the green-and-white faithful will make the trip to Ayrshire on Wednesday evening expecting a title party and the club's ultras group have lined up a special tribute in memory of legendary Burns.

The Parkhead idol passed away in 2008 at the age of just 51 after a long-running battle against cancer but Burns' spirit lives on at his beloved club to this day. Tomorrow [May 15] marks 16 years since Burns' sad passing and the Green Brigade have prepared a massive tifo for the Chadwick Stand in honour of the former player, manager and coach.

A post by North Curve Celtic on X read: "On the anniversary of the death of Celtic's greatest son, our current heroes are on the cusp of closing another epic chapter in our magical Celtic story.

"Tommy Burns lived for Celtic. Through his immortal example, the fans and team will cross the finish line as one. We kindly ask all fans to arrive early, raise your material as the champions-elect enter the field and use Tommy's memory to inspire vociferous support throughout."
