Guiseley swimmer is a top ten finalist at Sheffield Ponds Forge
A swimmer from Guiseley finished as a top ten finalist in the North East Region Open/Age Group Championships at Sheffield Ponds Forge.
Will Skiggs of Guiseley was among 20 City of Bradford Swimming Club representatives at Sheffield Ponds Forge on November 2 and 3.
In total the weekend produced no less than 33 top ten finalists, ten new Swim England National Winter Meet Qualifying times and eight new club records.
Highlights of the weekend and medallists were Gina Warrior, Jasmine Shay and Freddy Dean.
Warrior claimed gold in the Open 50m backstroke in a time of 28.58 and bronze in the longer 100m event in a time of 1.02.74.
Dean was a double medallist in the sixteen and under events.
He was on top of the rostrum in the 50m backstroke in a time of 26.85 and finished third in the 50m freestyle in a time of 23.85.
Shay finished third in the 16 and under 50m butterfly in a time of 28.88.
Other qualifiers/top ten finishers were Amy Hagyard, Sophia Gledhill, Isabelle Randhawa, Ruby Bryne, Charlotte Mallinson, Ben Artis, Will Skiggs and Dawid Naglik.
All the swimmers train on the Bradford Aquatics Competition programme under the guidance of coaches Andy Pearce and Sarah Fisher.
