Former Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane has suffered a fresh injury scare after he was forced off with an injury during Bayern Munich's Bundesliga clash against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday evening.

The striker made over 400 appearances for Spurs between 2010 and 2023 but opted to make the move to Germany ahead of the 2023/24 season. Kane is now in his second campaign at Bayern with 64 goals and 21 assists across all competitions in the last year.

However, Vincent Kompany's side had an opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the Bundesliga table this weekend as they travelled to face rivals Dortmund. Jamie Gittens opened the scoring for the hosts around the half hour mark, and a few minutes later, matters went from bad to worse for Bayern as Kane was forced off with an injury.

He limped off the pitch with medical staff and was replaced by Thomas Muller with 12 minutes to go before half time. Bayern fought back after the break as Jamal Musiala put the visitors back on level terms late in the game.

The draw means Bayern are just seven points clear of Eintracht Frankfurt, who have an opportunity to reduce the gap to just four points with a victory over Heidenheim on Sunday. For Bayern, they will be sweating over Kane's fitness with a crucial DFB-Pokal round of 16 clash against Bayer Leverkusen to come on Tuesday night.

“Harry says it’s not that bad," Kompany said on Kane's injury post-match. "He now needs to have a scan, and then we’ll know more. It’ll be tight for Tuesday. I don’t know many players who recover that quickly."
