Harry Souttar spotted in Rangers top after transfer links as Leicester exit expected

Harry Souttar is expected to leave Leicester and there is every chance he will be linked to Rangers again after previous interest.

Michael Beale wanted to bring the frozen-out Leicester City centre-back to Ibrox as he performed surgery on the Gers squad last summer and with the player being a fan of the club it was thought that could help smooth the process. But nothing happened and he stayed put.

Souttar, brother of Gers man John, made just three Championship appearances as his status as a Foxes outcast continued. It's likely he will be on the lookout for a new place to play his football this summer, either on loan or permanently. He is contracted until 2028 and cost £15million in January 2023.

Philippe Clement will now undergo a similar rebuild to the one Beale did before him and centre-back is likely to be one of the positions needing strengthened. Leon Balogun is out of contract and Connor Goldson has been linked with a move to link up with Steven Gerrard in Saudi Arabia and Gers have already been linked with Panama international Jose Cordoba.

The previous links to Souttar could resurface though and especially after a holiday snap of him emerged. The 25-year-old is on an end-of-season break with some teammates and has been pictured in a retro Rangers strip.

Midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall shared the pic on Instagram and wrote: "Some boys." Souttar poses alongside Conor Coady, Harry Winks and Marc Albrighton.

His Rangers allegiances have been reported in the past but supporters will no doubt be wondering if this public display is a sign or even a 'come-and-get-me plea'. Watch this space.
