Huddersfield Town and Nantes condemn racist insults aimed at Sorba Thomas
Huddersfield Town and FC Nantes have expressed their anger after Wales international Sorba Thomas was subjected to racist insults on social media.
Thomas, who is on loan at the Ligue 1 side from the Terriers, came on as a late substitute in Saturday’s 3-2 defeat at RC Lens, before himself being replaced.
A club statement from the French outfit released on Sunday read: “FC Nantes expresses its deep indignation following the racist insults to which Sorba Thomas was subjected following the match against RC Lens on social networks. The club wishes to give its full and unwavering support to its player.”

Town added in a post on X: “We are angered to learn of racist abuse being directed toward Sorba Thomas, and stand with both Sorba and FC Nantes in condemning this in the strongest possible terms.
“Discrimination of all forms has no place in society. Those responsible should feel the full consequence of their actions.”
Wales international Thomas has scored one goal in 11 appearances this season for Nantes, who began their campaign by taking seven points from their first three games but have won three from the last eight.
