Huddersfield Town return to League One action this weekend when they host Charlton Athletic at the John Smith’s Stadium. Saturday's fixture marks the start of a busy run of games for the Terriers, who are due to play nine matches between now and the end of the year.

Following the latest international break, Town sit eighth in the third tier on 23 points from 14 matches played, with Michael Duff’s side currently unbeaten in their last five league games. We’ve taken a look at Town’s next five opponents in League One as the campaign heads towards the Christmas period.

November 23 – Charlton Athletic (H)

The Addicks sit 13th in the League One table, on 19 points from 14 matches played, having won five, drawn four and lost five of their games. Nathan Jones’ side head into Saturday’s contest off the back of winning just one of their last eight league matches, a 1-0 victory over Birmingham City that consigned the Blues to their only league defeat so far this term.

The Addicks started the season strongly, with four wins from their opening six league games, but went on to suffer three straight defeats prior to that win over Birmingham. Charlton have since drawn against Stockport County, Barnsley and Wrexham, but come into tomorrow’s clash off the back of a 1-0 loss at Exeter City, which extended their winless run in the league to four games.

The Addicks have both scored and conceded 15 goals, and Matty Godden and Luke Berry are their top goalscorers in the league with four strikes apiece.

November 26 – Leyton Orient (A)

The Os are currently hovering just above the relegation zone, with Richie Wellens’ side sitting fifth from bottom in the table. Orient have won four, drawn two and lost eight matches so far, leaving them on 14 points from 14 matches played.

Orient began their League One campaign with four straight defeats, before registering back-to-back away wins at Reading and Stockport County. The Os followed that up with another five-game winless streak, but have won two of their last three league matches, including beating Blackpool 3-0 at Brisbane Road last time out. Wellens’ side have scored 14 and conceded 18 in the league this season, and Charlie Kelman leads their goalscoring charts with four league goals.

December 3 – Wigan Athletic (H)

The Latics are one place above Orient in 19th on goal difference, with Shaun Maloney’s side having won three, drawn five and lost six games to also pick up 14 points from their opening 14 games. Wigan won one and lost three of their opening four league matches, before they kept six consecutive clean sheets in the league, winning two and drawing four of those games.

The Latics are winless in their last five league games, and were narrowly beaten 1-0 by league leaders Wycombe Wanderers at the Brick Community Stadium last time out. Wigan have both scored and conceded 12 goals in League One so far this term, and Thelo Aasgaard is their top goalscorer with three league strikes.

December 7 – Mansfield Town (A)

The Stags have made a strong start to their League One campaign after securing automatic promotion from League Two last term. Nigel Clough’s side sit seventh in the division, having won seven, drawn three and lost three of their 13 league matches so far, registering 24 points to date.

Mansfield claimed one win from their opening four matches, but went on to record five consecutive league victories prior to the October international break. Clough’s side have lost two of their last four league games, including registering a 1-0 defeat at Wrexham last time out.

The Stags have scored 20 goals and let in 15 so far, with Lee Gregory currently leading their goalscoring charts with seven strikes, making him the fourth top marksman in the division to date.

December 14 – Lincoln City (H)

The Imps currently occupy the final play-off place, sitting sixth in the table on 26 points, having won seven, drawn five and lost three of their 15 matches so far. Michael Skubala’s side began their league campaign with five wins from their opening nine matches, before consecutive defeats to Birmingham City and Crawley Town were followed up with back-to-back wins against Stockport County and Northampton Town.

The Imps are four unbeaten in the league, and drew 0-0 at Exeter City last time out. They’ve scored 21 goals and conceded 17, and Ben House is their top goalscorer with four league strikes so far.
