Hull City's Championship season hit new depths this week after summer signing Mohamed Belloumi became the latest player struck down by a serious injury.

Just a couple of weeks after Liam Millar was ruled out with an anterior cruciate knee ligament injury, Belloumi is believed to have suffered a similar fate in the closing stages of Tuesday night's 1-0 defeat at Oxford United. City remain hopeful the prognosis isn't as bad as first feared, but there's a growing concern the results of a scan will confirm it.

The news will come as another hammer blow to City and boss Tim Walter, who is under mounting pressure after a poor run of results and saw fans again turn on him at the Kassam Stadium, demanding owner Acun Ilicali make a change.
