Hull City player ratings at Oxford United as Belloumi shines in damaging Tigers defeat
Hull City were beaten 1-0 at Oxford United on Tuesday night as the away fans turned on manager Tim Walter at the Kassam Stadium to increase the pressure on the German boss.
Despite dominating the first period, Walter's men were unable to take any of the chances they created and were eventually punished 10 minutes into the second half when Hidde Ter Avest scrambled home at the back post from close range.
City will kick themselves for not punishing Oxford in that first half, but the theme is recurring with chances coming and going throughout the contest.

Here's how Tigers reporter Barry Cooper rated the players at the Kassam Stadium on Tuesday evening...
Ivor Pandur: Apart from pass the ball about, had nothing to do until the final minute of the first half when he made a good reaction save from a close-range header. Could do little about the goal. 6/10
Ryan Giles: Back in from the start for the first time since being hauled off at half-time against Sheffield United, and provided a good outlet. Created a wonderful chance for Omur who fluffed it. Could have done better with his part in the opening goal. Taken off with 20 minutes to go. 6/10
Charlie Hughes: Dominant first-half showing, which included spraying the ball across the pitch a couple of times. Picked up a late booking for a frustrated foul. 7/10
Alfie Jones: Decent first half showing alongside Charlie Hughes, rarely under much pressure. Did nothing wrong on the night, and didn't deserve to be on the losing side. 7/10
Lewie Coyle: Got up and down the pitch well in the first period, and saw a shot deflected over just before the break. Another shift from the skipper. 7/10
Regan Slater: Enterprising first half from Slater, who was keen to try and get on the ball and link up well with Belloumi. Did at least try his luck from the edge of the box in the second period. 6/10
Xavier Simons: Blazed over the bar from the edge of the box after more enterprising work from Belloumi. Was decent in the first period but lost his way in the second. 6/10
Kasey Palmer: Had a good opening five minutes in but guided his effort over the bar from Belloumi's cross. Looked bright first half before fading. 6/10
Abdus Omur: Worked a lovely opening with Giles, but the finish didn't match the quality of the move. No shortage of endeavour, but there was a lack of end product, again. 5/10
Mohamed Belloumi: Started well, again, creating for Palmer before a tame shot straight at the goalkeeper. Kept at it, putting good balls into the box and then hit a post with a lovely curling effort. One of the shining lights on the night. 7.5/10
Joao Pedro: Didn't see much of it, but did work the defenders and try to create some space in the opening stages. 6/10
Subs:
Cody Drameh (for Giles 68): Pushed forward when he could with City struggling to gain any momentum. 5/10
Will Jarvis (for Omur 68): Had one half-decent run in the closing stages but was tackled out of it.m 5/10
Mason Burstow (for Belloumi 78): Tough ask coming on in that second period. 5/10
Gustavo Puerta (for Simons 78): Didn't really see much of the ball after coming on, bar one promising run. 5/10
Chris Bedia (for Palmer 83): Poked wide late on in what was City's final chance to get something from the game. 5/10
