Hull KR head coach Willie Peters and versatile player Jack Broadbent being guests at the Netherlands versus Chile rugby union game next Saturday in Amsterdam is another step towards creating a stronger connection with the host nation.

Peters and Broadbent will be invited guests for the sold-out fixture at the NRCA Stadium, which will also be the host venue for the club's 2025 Amsterdam Challenge match when they take on Mark Applegarth's York Knights at 2.30pm local time on Saturday January 25. The stadium has also recently hosted sold-out EPCR Challenge Cup Rugby fixtures and is the home of Rugby Netherlands with a capacity of 4,000. Chile, meanwhile, reached the rugby union World Cup for the first time when they played in the 2023 event, having defeated the United States to qualify.

Hull KR has been working with the Netherlands National Rugby League Governing body in the community and considers that, with a lot of rugby clubs in the country already and it being a relatively nearby city, it is natural territory for them to explore new male and female pathways and grow their footprint.

Hull KR Foundation will be working with the Nederlandse Rugby League Bond (NRLB) and local schools throughout the week of the Amsterdam Challenge to introduce rugby league to children. The Hull KR Foundation has already been working with the NRLB to assist them with their goal of becoming World Cup Accredited.

Rovers' match in Amsterdam - where Craven Streat will be taken - has been confirmed as their sole friendly ahead of the 2025 Super League season.
