'I'm not naive' - Ruben Amorim makes honest admission about Manchester United job
Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim insists he is aware of the size of the challenge that is waiting for him at Old Trafford.
Amorim's United contract officially starts on Monday having taken charge of Sporting Lisbon for the final time on Sunday evening, overseeing a 4-2 come-from-behind win over Braga. Amorim and members of his coaching team boarded a flight bound for Manchester on Monday morning and they are expected to start work at Old Trafford as soon as they have obtained work permits.
United quickly sounded Amorim out as their preferred candidate to replace Erik ten Hag two weeks ago and moved swiftly to get a deal done. He was officially appointed as the aforementioned Dutchman's successor on November 1.

Looking ahead to the project that lies ahead of him in the Premier League, Amorim, who led Sporting to five trophies during his time in the Portuguese capital, has admitted that he is "not naive" about the size of the task of trying to turn United's fortunes around.
"I feel ready for the new challenge," Amorim said. "I'm not naive, I know it's going to be very different, very difficult.
"I'm at peace now. I can focus on my new job and I'm looking forward to starting tomorrow (Monday). I know it will be difficult to reproduce what I have here anywhere else but there are other places with different exposure and pressure."
Ruud van Nistelrooy has been holding the fort since Ten Hag's exit on October 28, winning three and drawing one of his four games in interim charge. It is still unclear if the former striker will stay at Old Trafford.
Amorim added: "I have to talk with him tomorrow (Monday). I will explain everything. I'm very clear and I will tell you like it is. So let's wait until tomorrow."
