Indianapolis Colts at Carolina Panthers: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 9 game

The Carolina Panthers (1-6) have a win, and now they'll host the Indianapolis Colts (3-5) in a game between two teams at the bottom of their divisions.

It's now three straight losses for the Colts, with their latest defeat coming in a home loss against the New Orleans Saints. Gardner Minshew has done a good job in place of Anthony Richardson, but the Indianapolis defense has been giving points left and right, allowing a league-high 28.6 points per game.

There will be no winless team in the NFL this season as the Panthers got their first victory of the season on a last-second field goal over the Houston Texans. Bryce Young was able to show why he was the No. 1 overall pick, and there's a chance to build a small winning streak against other rebuilding teams.

Lorenzo Reyes: Colts 24, Panthers 17

Kudos to Carolina for winning and covering last week for the first time this season. Bryce Young has gotten better as the season has worn on. Still, there are far too many holes on this offense and Indianapolis’ running game has been stellar. This is another candidate for an under play here.

Tyler Dragon: Colts 24, Panthers 20

Rookie QB Bryce Young is coming off his first win and perhaps his most complete game. Last week’s victory could springboard Carolina as they host an Anthony Richardson-less Colts team. Running back Jonathan Taylor and Indy’s defense could be the difference.

Safid Deen: Colts 24, Panthers 17

Carolina’s first win of the season was ugly, and I don’t expect their second win to come this week. The Colts have lost three straight against three tough defenses, but do well enough offensively to win on the road against the Panthers.

Victoria Hernandez: Colts 24, Panthers 20

The Panthers finally got their first win last week. Now that that burden has been lifted, the Colts are the ones with more to play for in the road matchup after losing three straight. Jonathan Taylor is improving week by week and this group of veterans will overpower rookie Bryce Young.

Jordan Mendoza: Colts 28, Panthers 26

Carolina has a chance to grow against a less-than-impressive Indianapolis defense that's given up at least 37 points in every game. However, the Panthers' defense has been ripped apart by good offenses this season. Indianapolis gets the win in a game that has the potential to be a shootout.
