Jermain Defoe insists Rangers players LOVE playing under Philippe Clement.

The Belgian has dragged Gers back into the title race when the season looked like a write-off under Michael Beale. And if results go his way over the coming weeks - starting in Saturday's do-or-die Old Firm clash at Parkhead - Clement could even end his first campaign as a Treble-winner.

Celtic are favourites to be crowned champions as Brendan Rodgers' side boast a three-point lead heading into the final three league games. But ex-England striker Defoe - who spent two-and-a-half years at Ibrox - believes the Premiership trophy will be draped in blue, white and red ribbons come May 18.

Asked what his former teammates have told him about Clement, Defoe told Sky Sports: "They love him. Apparently, he's a really nice guy - but he's big on standards. I think you have to be when you're Rangers manager. But the experienced players like James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, all these leaders will help the players and manage the dressing room anyway.

"With this manager, even the way the play it's really exciting, it's going to be a really interesting finish. And if they can do it, it would be be amazing for the football club and all the fans because the fan base is phenomenal."
