Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has ruled out making the move into coaching after admitting he loves doing Monday Night Football too much. Carragher enjoyed a distinguished career as a player, winning the Champions League, two FA Cups, two League Cups and the UEFA Cup during his time with the Reds.

However, following his retirement in 2013, at the age of 35, Carragher made the move into punditry. As well as working as an analyst and commentator for Sky Sports, he also writes a weekly column for The Daily Telegraph.

The former England international successfully completed his coaching badges during the end of his playing career, but despite having the qualifications to coach, he's revealed he has no plans to change careers, as well as aiming a cheeky dig at fellow Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville, who was infamously sacked after just four months in charge of Valencia back in March 2016.

"I did my coaching badges at the end of my career, but the honest answer is no," Carragher admitted in his Q&A with The Daily Telegraph when asked if he would move into coaching. "You think about it when you know you've got to stop playing, but I never had the option.

"Basically, no-one ever offered me a coaching job! As soon as I finished playing, I got the best gig I could imagine by joining Monday Night Football, and I love that too much to think about trying management.

"The ship has sailed now. I won't be doing a Gary Neville!"

Asked by a Liverpool supporter if there was a cure for liking ex-Manchester United stars Neville and Roy Keane, Carragher replied: "That's been a worry of mine for a long time. Gary and Roy are good lads, they like a laugh and they're entertaining.

"Even us Scousers like to listen to them sometimes. You don't need a cure, just embrace it!"
