Jamie Redknapp aims four-word jibe after Man United win over Leicester City
Jamie Redknapp jokingly mocked Ruud van Nistelrooy for the length of time Manchester United's interim head coach showed his appreciation to the fans at Old Trafford after his final match taking charge of the team against Leicester City.
Van Nistelrooy walked over to the Stretford End as they sang his name to take in their adoration, stopping on the byline to applaud them back. He outstretched his arms and gave them a double thumbs up before patting his chest and walking toward the tunnel.
But before reaching the corner of the pitch, Van Nistelrooy paused again and turned back toward the supporters, pumping his fists before blowing a kiss in their direction. Redknapp, however, had something to say about the celebrations.

He made the quip while working for Sky as part of their Super Sunday coverage at Stamford Bridge. After the match they were broadcasting, Newcastle United's 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest finished, and they showed a ten-second clip of Van Nistelrooy celebrating with the United fans.
They did so while recapping the results of the other two matches which kicked off at 2pm after returning from a commercial break, with a similar-length clip showing Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna embracing his coaching staff after their first league win of the season against Tottenham Hotspur. Then, twenty minutes later, after resuming their coverage following another advert break before beginning the commentary on Chelsea versus Arsenal, they showed the same clip of Van Nistelrooy showing his appreciation to the supporters.
"Well, he might be on his way, but he will not be forgotten, Ruud van Nistelrooy," Super Sunday host Dave Jones said over the footage of the United interim head coach celebrating. That led Redknapp to quip: "Is he still there?"
Jones laughed in response before continuing, "Signing off with the biggest home win of the season, hence the celebration." Those scenes following the full-time whistle, when Van Nistelrooy looked notably emotional, were also likely a consequence of the uncertainty around his future with new head coach Ruben Amorim joining United on Monday.
