Impressed Jamie Redknapp admits he's a paid-up member of the Matt O'Riley fan club as he told the Brighton star he's been a fan for years.

The leading pundit spoke to the playmaker after his ice-cool winner against Manchester City as he put three months of injury torment behind him. And Redknapp was keen to let the Denmark international know that he likes what he's about and followed him closely at Celtic. O'Riley said goodbye to Glasgow after two-and-a-half years as he sealed a deal which could rise to £30m with the Seagulls.

Speaking on Sky Sports, the former Liverpool skipper, speaking directly to the player himself, said: "Matt, Jamie Redknapp, congratulations. I’m a big fan. I followed your Celtic career very closely and I always loved the way you played. You’re so cultured on the ball. I spoke about that injury and how that feeling is and then to have that emotion in that goal you scored."
