Jamie Vardy and Ricardo Pereira injury update given as Leicester City pair miss Man United clash
Jamie Vardy and Ricardo Pereira both suffered injuries last week, leading to their absences in Leicester City’s line-up against Manchester United.
It’s understood Vardy has a back injury and so the skipper misses out for the first time in the Premier League this season. Jordan Ayew leads the line in his place, while Harry Winks takes the armband.
Ricardo is also absent after starting the last two Premier League matches. He is thought to have a hamstring issue. It’s a straight swap at right-back for the Portuguese, with James Justin coming back into the side.

Speaking in his pre-match interview, City manager Steve Cooper said: “He (Vardy) is injured. And Ricardo Pereira as well. It happens, none of us want injuries but unfortunately both picked up injuries last week and have been unable to recover for today, which is unfortunate. But we look forward to the game.”
Cooper will hopefully be able to give more details on the injuries in his post-match press conference but both players will at least have the international break in which to recover. As far as Vardy is concerned, City are set to boost their striker options after the international break anyway, with Patson Daka likely to be fit for Chelsea, the Zambian another option for Cooper alongside Ayew and Odsonne Edouard.
There is some good injury news for City though. Hamza Choudhury is fit again after his dislocated shoulder at the start of October, and he’s on the bench at Old Trafford.
