Jhon Duran lifts lid on Ollie Watkins 'competition' and makes brilliant birthday pledge
Jhon Duran admits he relishes the competition he has with Ollie Watkins after scoring his 10th goal in all competitions in Aston Villa's 3-2 win over RB Leipzig on Tuesday night.
The 20-year-old international replaced Watkins for the start of the second half due to a "small injury" suffered by the England international and scored shortly after coming on, beating Peter Gulacsi from distance. His goal put Villa 2-1 up after John McGinn opened the scoring in the third minute before Lois Openda took full advantage of a defensive mix-up halfway through the first period.
But after Christoph Baumgartner pegged Villa back for a second time following Duran's goal, Ross Barkley came off the bench to score the winner as his strike from outside the box deflected past Gulacsi.

"We worked hard as a team, and that is my job to score," Duran told Amazon Prime after full-time. "The main thing was the win and the three points away from home.
"I am just happy to be here and love the competition with Ollie Watkins. When it is my turn hopefully I can step up and help the team.
"We're so happy to be where we are and we are almost through so we are delighted about that."
Duran will turn 21 years of age on Saturday and he's planning to celebrate by scoring at the City Ground when Villa take on fifth-placed Nottingham Forest.
"I am definitely not going out to celebrate my birthday because my aim is to score to celebrate on Saturday," he said.
After a sensational start to the season with Villa, Duran signed a new contract with the club in October, committing his future to the club until 2030.
