Ipswich Town are reportedly set to launch a late move for Rangers midfielder John Lundstram.

Lundstram is in advanced talks with Trabzonspor about a switch to Turkey as his Ibrox contract prepares to run out this summer. Boss Philippe Clement is desperate to keep the midfielder in Govan but admitted "the water is too deep" between both parties. Now, Premier League new boys Ipswich are ready to offer the ex-Sheffield United man a lucrative return down south, according to the Scottish Sun.

It's understood Trabzonspor have already agreed terms with out-of-contract Gers teammate Borna Barisic and the Super Lig hoped to complete a double summer raid. But should the newly-promoted Tractor Boys come to the table with an offer for Lundstram, it could throw a spanner in the works in Trabzonspor's attempts to land the Scouser.

Kieran McKenna's side sealed promotion yesterday after 22 years out of the top-flight and the Ipswich boss has been a long-term admirer of Lundstram - who has been a mainstay under Clement.

But as talks over a new deal drag on, Ipswich would be able to blow Rangers out of the water with a money-spinning deal to land the 30-year-old on a free transfer.
