It may only have been a 10-minute cameo at the end of Leeds United's 2-0 win over QPR, but it meant a whole lot more to Josuha Guilavogui.

The French midfielder came on to help secure the three points at Elland Road on Saturday, with Daniel Farke's side going on to find the crucial second goal after his introduction with five minutes of regular time remaining.

As our man Beren Cross wrote in his Leeds United player ratings, Guilavogui helped 'raise the volume' inside the famous stadium with some strong challenges as Leeds ensured there was no sting in the tail after dominating the game without finding a second goal following Jayden Bogle's opener. Joe Piroe's late second calmed any nerves and ensured Leeds stayed two points behind Sunderland.

For Guilavogui though, it represented another big step forward after a whirlwind few weeks. The 34-year-old had been without a club after leaving Mainz in the summer, before Farke brought him to West Yorkshire on a free transfer.

The move may primarly be about providing cover for Joe Rothwell and Ao Tanaka after injuries to fellow midfielders Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev, but Guilavogui is grateful for the chance to show what he can do at Championship level, and is relishing every chance.

He took to social media following the win over QPR to reflect on just how much as changed in recent weeks for the former Wolfsburg man, and express his gratitude at being given another opportunity,

"Last international break I was at home and jobless." he posted on X. "Today I'm playing for Leeds United and winning at Elland Road. Feel grateful and blessed."

Guilavogui, who has signed a deal until the end of the season, could see Ampadu return to increase competition in the near future, with Leeds hopeful that the Welsh international could make a comeback before Christmas.
