Jurgen Klopp's departure from Liverpool this summer also marks the end of Ulla Sandrock's time in Merseyside.

The German will manage his final game as the Reds boss against Wolves, bringing to a close one of the most successful periods in Liverpool's history since the 1980s under Bob Paisley and Joe Fagan.

Klopp's exit is a bitter pill for fans worldwide to swallow, as he prepares to return to his native Germany with wife Ulla Sandrock. The couple, who met at Oktoberfest in Munich, have been married since 2005 and have been active members of the community, with Ulla dedicating her time, effort, and money to the local area, reports the Mirror.

The children's author made a "substantial" donation to Formby Community Football Club during the 2020 lockdown, enabling food and medicine deliveries at a time when many were struggling.

She consistently supported the community, even handing out £1,000 worth of food vouchers to staff at a Waitrose in Formby as a "thank you". The Liverpool Echo understands that 20 separate £50 vouchers for the store were given by the Liverpool manager's wife to staff present on the shop floor at the time.

Ulla played a significant role in Klopp's tenure at Liverpool, with the 56 year old admitting that her wish to stay in England led him to sign a contract extension in 2022.

At the time, Jurgen Klopp humorously declared that he was playing the role of a "good husband" by extending his contract to 2026, even though he'd originally planned to say farewell to the club in 2024. As he revealed on Liverpool's X account: "There's something to announce. Like last time some will like it, some will not like it too much. If you don't like it, stop watching now."

"I stay for another two years... and only me. No, all my coaches will as well, which is the most important actually. Why? Is now the question. Because Ulla wants to stay and as a good husband what are you doing when your wife wants to stay? You are staying."

He then reflected: "The most important contract I signed in my life was the one with Ulla. And that's why it start again, because actually we sat at the kitchen table and Ulla said 'I can't see us leaving in 2024'. I said 'what? '. That's how it all started and when that started I thought 'let's have a think'."
