Justin Sangare set for Leeds Rhinos exit as move to Super League rivals awaits
Salford Red Devils' recruitment for the 2025 season is set to continue with the arrival of Leeds Rhinos prop Justin Sangare. Rugby League Live can exclusively reveal that the France international has agreed to join the Reds and will become the latest addition to their pack heading into next year.
Salford have been working on ways to bolster their middle unit without the luxury of quota spots and after also completing a move for Chris Hill, they are now understood to have secured a deal for Sangare.
The 26-year-old still has a year left on his contract at Headingley but as part of the Rhinos' recruitment revamp, Sangare looks set to become the latest player to make way, following fellow Frenchman Mickael Goudemand and Leon Ruan. Leeds have signed Keenan Palasia and Cooper Jenkins heading into 2025 and with Tom Holroyd anticipated to be back after missing the majority of the season, Sangare's opportunities appeared likely to be restricted.
Salford, meanwhile, have appeared light when it comes to props. Gil Dudson has departed following his loan deal and both Adam Sidlow and Andrew Dixon have departed. They do have King Vuniyayawa returning from a loan spell with Hull FC, though Salford currently have eight quota players and one will have to depart.
But the arrival of Sangare, who has made 63 Super League appearances for Toulouse Olympique and Leeds, as well as England international Hill, gives them some much needed artillery in the pack heading into next season.
Salford have also signed Esan Marsters and Sam Davis ahead of the 2025 campaign from Huddersfield Giants and London Broncos respectively.
