Kasper Schmeichel admits he's loving life at Celtic but has put contract talks on hold for now.

The Denmark No1, 37, has proven to be the ideal replacement for retired Joe Hart after replacing the ex-England keeper between the sticks in the summer. Schmeichel - the son of Manchester United legend Peter - has conceded just three goals in the Premiership, recording nine clean sheets. His ability to play cutting edge passes from the back has also added a new dimension to Brendan Rodgers' side, especially as the Hoops look to beat pressing teams in Europe.

In an interview with Tipsbladet, the Premier League winner insists he's relishing the pressure of winning every game as Celts compete across all four fronts this season. He said: "I am very satisfied. I have been playing really well and I love being part of the team. It's a cool style of play that we have, and it suits me really well. We've had a good start, but it's not about how you start. I can't complain.

"We play really good football. The past week has been typical for our team. In pre-season we beat City and Chelsea, and then we took it further and beat Leipzig in the Champions League. We are in a good place and we can play many different types of matches. Anything but a victory is a failure. I feel super cool about that. It's a completely different type of pressure than what I've been used to in my career. It is a new experience."

Schmeichel's current contract expires next summer but the veteran shotstopper isn't thinking too far ahead. He said: "One thing at a time. It is an option for another year, but we will take that at some point next year."
