Katie Taylor loses huge £4.8m Mike Tyson reward after Jake Paul fight controversy
Katie Taylor lost her bet with Jake Paul after their encounter during the press conference after putting her fight purse 'on the line'. The Irish boxing icon had predicted that Mike Tyson would beat the YouTuber-turned-boxer in their blockbuster fight on Saturday.
However, Paul, 31 years younger than the former heavyweight champion, comfortably dispatched the 58-year-old. After a fast start, which saw the iconic boxer on the front foot, the 'Problem Child' took full advantage as he tired in the bout.
It remains to be seen whether Taylor and Paul stuck to their initial bet, following the back-and-forth during the build-up to their respective fights.

The Amercian put other fighters on the panel under pressure when he asked who'd win. The 38-year-old tipped Tyson to come out on top and added: "Well, do you want to bet your purse?"
Paul has claimed his purse for the Tyson fight is $40 million (£31.7m), while Taylor's own purse is rumoured to be $6.1 million (£4.8m). Taylor ensured that Serrano didn't seek revenge in a controversial unanimous decision from the judges.
She endured a tough start to the fight against Puerto Ricans but found her groove in round four. There was a flashpoint in that round after an accidental clash of heads opened up the challengers right eye.
Her opponent was looking to avenge the controversial defeat that remains one of two blemishes on Serrano's record. The cut above the challengers eye proved problematic, with a medical timeout called, but she continued to put pressure on Taylor.
Like their first bout, they went to the judges scorecard with Taylor taking home the win 95-94 - which was met with boos by the Arlington crowd. Speaking after the fight, she said: "It's hard to tell during the fight, it was a war thank god I won this fight. Congrats to Amanda, an amazing champion. The trilogy is on.
"We train so hard to recover from those moments, she's a hard puncher, a warrior I was prepared for that. I don't care if the commentary team or crowd disagree, thank god.
"I definitely didn't agree with the points deduction but I wasn't fighting dirty, it's rough in there, you have to prepare for that. This is an amazing moment for women's boxing, thank god for another amazing night."
However, Serrano's coach, Jordan Maldonado criticised Taylor, he said: "(For the rematch) We get a fair referee who knows what he's doing, he didn't do anything.
"There was a lot of headbutting. The first time she ever got cut was with Katie Taylor, if you see her a lot of her fights come out with grotesque swelling, that's nothing new. They lead with their heads, Katie's a great person but she's got a big head."
