Kenny Miller rinsed at Celtic Player of the Year night as Rangers red card meltdown leaves Hydro in stitches

Chris Sutton usually doesn't waste an opportunity to poke fun at someone he feels deserves it. So when he had an arena full of Celtic fans eating out the palm of his hands the day after victory over Rangers, he had the perfect opportunity.

The Hoops hero was on commentary duty alongside Kenny Miller for Saturday's derby win when the former striker of both teams had a bit of a rant about the red card handed out to Gers midfielder John Lundstram. Miller even doubled down at full time despite every other pundit - even Kris Boyd - disagreeing with him.

He seemed to be suggesting that by the letter of the law a sending off was in fact the correct decision but he felt as though the VAR intervention was unnecessary and the initial yellow card given by Willie Collum would have sufficed. It earned him a bit of ridiculing on social media from Celts fans or otherwise.

And he has now been roasted at the Celtic Player of the Year awards at a sold-out Hydro too. Sutton was one of the club heroes of the past present to help hand out the awards and aimed a dig at his Sky Sports colleague while on stage.

He said: "I'd like to congratulate Brendan and the team on their performance yesterday. And can I also congratulate Kenny Miller on his unique piece of punditry that no-one else in the universe agreed with. Well done Kenny."

As soon as Miller was mentioned, laughs spread around the Hydro and increased when Sutton delivered his punchline. And host Shebahn Aherne added: "Still crying somewhere, probably."
