Kieran Tierney on verge of Arsenal injury comeback as Mikel Arteta gives update
Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Kieran Tierney is on the verge of making an injury comeback for Arsenal.
The ex-Celtic defender, 27, has been sidelined since suffering a serious hamstring injury in Scotland's 1-1 draw with Switzerland at the Euros. Tierney was left devastated as he was stretchered off the pitch, knowing that he faced a long road to recovery. KT had spent last season on loan with La Liga outfit Real Sociedad and made 26 appearances across all competitions.
He admitted during the summer that an exit from the Gunners was the most likely outcome after falling out of favour under Arteta, with his last appearance coming as a sub in the Community Shield penalty shootout victory against Manchester City in August 2023.

But the left-back's injury woes scuppered any chance of a permanent departure. Now though, Tierney is close to recovering from his latest injury setback after Arteta confirmed he'll soon return to first-team training.
He said: "I think he’s quite close, he looks good, really sharp. He hasn’t trained with the team yet, hopefully he can do that in the next week or two."
