Kind-hearted Gourock golfers raise £4,000 for charities in Inverclyde and beyond
MORE than £4,000 has been raised for charitable causes across Inverclyde and beyond by kind-hearted ladies from Gourock Golf Club during 2024.
The club raised most of the funds for Breast Cancer Now from their recent 'Pink Day' ladies' invitational competition. But
But local charities did not miss out and recently the ladies’ captain, Liz T. Rankin, and the section’s charities convener Anne Johnstone met representatives from Compassionate Inverclyde and Children in Poverty Inverclyde to hand over £150 cheques to each charity.

Marie Clair Davidson and Doris Woods said of Compassionate Inverclyde: “It’s about ordinary people making a difference together to reduce social isolation and loneliness, with activities being simply based on kindness.
"These funds will aid our activities which include Back to Home boxes for those being discharged from IRH, NODA (No One Dies Alone), Friendly Visitors and our Friendship Hub.”
