Kirkman handed chance to impress after loan recall
Billy Kirkman has been handed a chance to impress in the Swindon Town first team after being recalled from Weston-super-Mare.
Kirkman has been with the National League South outfit since early September, making 11 appearances for the side sat second in the sixth tier.
Town signed the young defender this summer after he impressed for The New Saints and Aberystwyth in the Cymru Premier and also had a successful trial period.
His displays for The Seagulls and back at Beversbrook in training have caused Holloway to bring him back and he looks set to get an opportunity to impress straight away against Wycombe Wanderers in the Vertu Trophy.
Holloway said: “I have brought Billy Kirkman back as I think that is important because he has done really well so I can have a look at him.
“Billy, unfortunately for Weston, is going to miss four of their games because of a decision that I have made because I want him with me over these next few weeks to see if he is good enough for me to push in and have a go.
“What a wonderful opportunity for him. Is he starting? Probably not but if he gets some time in this game then it is a great test.”
