Lady Cougars race past Danville Christian

Apr. 19—After defeating two district opponents to begin the week, the Lady Cougars found themselves on the road on Thursday to take on Danville Christian, a team they had lost to at home earlier in the season. The result was much different this time around, as Somerset Christian only needed five innings to finish off the Lady Warriors 13-0.

Lydia Fisher had four RBI's and a double to lead the Cougars, with Caroline Mounce hitting in two RBI's and both Grace Kiteck and Reagan Childers hitting in one apiece. Both Kiteck and Elisabeth Scott had a stolen base in the contest. Childers once again had a fantastic outing on the pitcher's mound, earning the win and going the full five innings while allowing just three hits with no walks and 13 strikeouts.

Somerset Christian will next travel to Barbourville on Friday before returning home to take on Danville on Tuesday.
