Lamine Yamal for Celtic? Fans dare to dream as Barcelona superstar's dad shows his true colours
Celtic fans have joked Barcelona superstar Lamine Yamal could be on his way to Parkhead - after his dad shared a picture on social media kitted out in the club’s tracksuit.
The teenage Spanish sensation has had a rapid rise to stardom which has seen him become the youngest player to win the European Championship as part of the squad which triumphed in Germany in the summer, beating England in the final.
And now his father, Moroccan-born Mounir Nasraoui, has shared an image on Instagram sporting the new Celtic Origins threads which has had Hoops legions scratching their heads - and daring to dream he could be a future Parkhead star! One wrote on social media: "Sign him up!"
Lamal’s dad was brought to Spain from north Africa by his mother when he was just nine and worked as a painter. He also played football but his inability to turn professional left him juggling various jobs to make ends meet. Earlier this year he was stabbed multiplied times in a car park in Barcelona. Local sources reported that the incident occurred after a fight broke out in the area.
PSG were linked with Lamal in the summer as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe and Barcelona president Joan Laporta revealed they knocked back a bid of around £200million, although didn’t name the club. He said: "A club came to me to sign Lamine for €250M and I said no.”
