Laurel baseball team knocks off West Middlesex

Mar. 30—The Laurel High baseball team remained perfect Friday morning.

The Spartans slugged nine hits en route to an 8-5 nonsection home win over West Middlesex.

Laurel is now 3-0.

Kolton Carlson, Tyler Shearer and Brayden Faulkner paced the Spartans with two hits each.

Robert Kissick started and picked up the win. Kissick tossed 6 1/3 innings, giving up nine hits and five earned runs with two walks and six strikeouts.

Laurel scored two runs in the first, two in the second and four in the third.

West Middlesex notched two tallies in the first, one in the third and two in the seventh.

Laurel is back on the diamond at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Northgate.
