Leeds United lose 11th senior option to international break as Daniel Farke alters his plan
Another player has been taken away from Daniel Farke’s international break plans at the 11th hour. Leeds United midfielder Charlie Crew has been called into the senior Wales squad by Craig Bellamy, having been on standby.
The 18-year-old made his senior debut for the Whites in the home win over Plymouth Argyle at the start of the month. Crew actually made his Wales debut before his Whites equivalent after getting a first cap in the summer.
Rob Page called Crew into his squad for two friendlies in June, with the teenager then getting on against Gibraltar. The former Cardiff City youth will now hope to add to his tally under Bellamy for the first time.

The national team travel to play Turkey in Kayseri for a 5pm kick-off on Saturday before returning to the capital for their final Nations League fixture with Iceland at 7.45pm on November 19. Crew is the 11th member of Farke’s senior squad to go away during this fortnight between league games.
Crew is, of course, one of several Leeds players on the Wales radar. He joins Karl Darlow, Joe Rodon and Daniel James in this squad. Junior Firpo is playing in the Caribbean with the Dominican Republic.
Brenden Aaronson is away with the USA, while Mateo Joseph is with Spain’s under-21s once again. Ao Tanaka, meanwhile, is in the Far East with Japan, playing in Indonesia and China.
Wilfried Gnonto is with the Italy under-21s too and Max Wober is back in the Austria fold despite being out of action with Leeds since August.
