We are are almost a third of the way through the 2024/25 Championship season and Daniel Farke's Leeds United outfit are living up to their label as one of the pre-season favourites for promotion.

Further good news arrived last week in the form of the Whites agreeing a new deal with kit manufacturer Adidas. The extension comes off the back of United announcing record-breaking sales of their current yellow away kit, which saw an impressive 15,000 shirts sold within the first day of release.

The German manufacturer first partnered with the Championship club ahead of its return to the top flight for the 2020/21 season. A Football Insider report says the Whites are understood to have earned around £10 million per campaign from the deal.

Finance expert Stefan Borson said: “I suspect that Leeds sell a decent amount of kit, even in the Championship. On top of that, there is the Red Bull situation, which I think Adidas will look at it and see a kind of underpinning of the likely progress at the club over the next few years. They probably think one way or another over the next five years Leeds are likely to be back in the Premier League.

“Therefore, the structure of the deal should accommodate that. We know Adidas are making a very big push to capture quite a lot of football right now.

“The Liverpool deal will be an extremely large deal, and you have got the new Man United deal, which we know from their accounts is a £90million-a-year deal. We also know about the Newcastle deal that came in this season.

"Adidas are making a big push. I suspect the numbers are still quite aggressive for Leeds, even as a Championship side.”
