'Legend of the club' - Ruben Amorim hints at decision on Ruud van Nistelrooy at Manchester United
Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim will hold talks about Ruud van Nistelrooy's future on Monday.
Amorim managed his final game in charge of Sporting Lisbon on Sunday night and secured a dramatic 4-2 win against Braga on the road after being 2-0 down by half-time.
The 39-year-old was mobbed by his players at the final whistle and will arrive in Manchester on Monday, meaning he will oversee his first United match against Ipswich Town.
Sporting's players said goodbye to Amorim after their Braga victory. Amorim led Sporting to their first league title in 19 years during his first full season at the Jose Alvalade Stadium and United believe they have appointed one of the finest coaching prospects in Europe.

The excitement is building for Amorim's reign at Old Trafford but his imminent arrival could mean Van Nistelrooy, who managed four games as interim manager, leaves the club.
Although Van Nistelrooy has confirmed he would like to see out his two-year contract as United assistant manager, Amorim is bringing his own coaches to Carrington from Sporting.
After the Braga win, Amorim was asked about Van Nistelrooy at his final Sporting press conference and said: “About a legend of the club. He did a great job. I have to talk with him tomorrow. Then I will explain everything. I am very clear and I will tell you like it is. Let’s wait until tomorrow.”
He also discussed his style of play and suggested he would play his 3-4-3 formation from the start. "I know how I am going to play in the beginning because you have to start with a structure that you know," he said.
"Then you will adapt with the players that you have, some injuries, or no injuries, what kind of players have the abilities to defend, attack, I will discover that in the next few weeks.
“We don’t have a lot of time to train, so I have to show something that I know very well. You can take whatever you want from that.”
Carlos Fernandes, 29, and Adelio Candido, 28, followed Amorim from Barga to Sporting in 2020 and they have been crucial in his success at the Jose Alvalade Stadium, while Amorim has also previously said if he becomes Bobby Robson then Fernandes is 'his Jose Mourinho'.
There is currently uncertainty around Van Nistelrooy, Rene Hake and Andreas Georgson, who were all appointed in the summer as Ineos looked to freshen up Erik ten Hag's staff.
