Jamie Vardy and Ricardo Pereira are both missing from the Leicester City squad at Manchester United with Boubakary Soumare brought in as one of three changes.

Vardy is absent for the first time this season in the Premier League, the captain starting every previous fixture, with last weekend’s added-time hero Jordan Ayew brought in to lead the lead. Ricardo is thought to be out with injury and is replaced by James Justin. Manager Steve Cooper has now confirmed both are injured.

The final change sees Soumare handed his first start of the premier League season. Out drops Stephy Mavididi, with Cooper choosing to strengthen his midfield.

Soumare could play alongside Harry Winks with Wilfred Ndidi pushed forward into an advanced midfield role, or he could opt for a flat midfield three. In the attack, Abdul Fatawu and Facundo Buonanotte will be supporting Ayew, with one of them set to play out of position on the left flank.

In defence, Jannik Vestergaard keeps his spot at centre-back, alongside Wout Faes. Caleb Okoli and Conor Coady are both among the substitutes.

Mavididi is also on the bench, as are Hamza Choudhury and Odsonne Edouard, the duo both recalled. Choudhury is in the squad for the first time since dislocating his shoulder at the start of October, while Edouard is back in after he was dropped at Ipswich.

City (4-2-3-1): Hermansen; Justin, Faes, Vestergaard, Kristiansen; Winks, Soumare; Buonanotte, Ndidi, Fatawu; Ayew. Subs: Ward, Okoli, Coady, Choudhury, Skipp, El Khannouss, Mavididi, McAteer, Edouard.
