Newcastle United head into the international break on the back of two consecutive Premier League wins having beaten Arsenal and Nottingham Forest whilst also securing a spot in the quarter final of the League Cup.

The win against Forest ended a run of 10 days which felt among some of the most important of Toon boss Eddie Howe's tenure. Thankfully, United have picked up the wins that have taken them up to eighth and only one point off third place - setting them up nicely for the return of league action following the international break.

The turnaround in performance has come alongside the up turn in form of some of Newcastle's key players but looking at the 14 games played so far this game - how do you rate the players' performances out of 10? It's a difficult task and one that is open to debate - and on The Everything is Black and White Podcast we've joined that discussion by rating those players who have featured this season out of 10.

Podcast host Andrew Musgrove is joined by The Mirror's Simon Bird as both share their verdict on the squad - with Lewis Hall topping the charts with a nine out of 10. Hall has featured in all games this season and has now earned a call up to the senior England squad for the games this fortnight - something that is well deserved.

Speaking about the 20-year-old, Andrew Musgrove said: "I've got him down as a nine - I've been that impressed with him. I've really enjoyed the journey he has been on. It's not just this season but last season when he finally got his opportunities and you could tell he wasn't right and the start of this season you could argue he started at maybe a five or six but over the last few months he's just got better and better.

"Never any doubt about him attacking wise but it's defensively where he has improved. He looks much more focused, strong in the challenge, more composed and it's just been a fantastic journey."

Tune in to hear or watch Andrew and Simon clash over ratings when it comes to Harvey Barnes, Joelinton and others.
