Liam Scales rewarded for Celtic breakthrough season as defender signs long-term contract
Celtic have announced that Liam Scales has put pen to paper on a new four-year contract.
The Republic of Ireland international has become a mainstay in Brendan Rodgers' team after filing the void at centre-back following the departure of Treble-winner Carl Starfelt. Scales has racked up 40 appearances so far this campaign, scoring in a 2-0 win over Livingston, but his contract was due to expire next summer.
Now, the ex-Aberdeen loanee has been rewarded with a bumper new deal that will see him stay at Parkhead until 2028. Scales said: “I am delighted to agree this new contract and commit my future to Celtic.
"I have really enjoyed working under the gaffer, and with such a great group of players this year and I look forward to doing so again in the coming seasons.
“I love being part of this great club and I want to do all I can to contribute to Celtic and bring our fans as much success as we can.”
