Lisandro Martinez has taken a light-hearted dig at Manuel Ugarte following Manchester United's 3-0 win over Leicester City. The duo played a key role in Ruud van Nistelrooy's side as they stormed past the Foxes at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

Bruno Fernandes broke the deadlock after a quarter of an hour before Victor Kristiansen netted an own goal to double United's lead shortly before the break. Alejandro Garnacho etched his name on the scoresheet in the final minutes with a brilliantly curled strike into the top corner.

After the game, Martinez marked the victory with a celebratory post on Instagram, which chalked over 150,000 likes and a 1,000 comments in just a few hours. The United defender wrote: "Good performance and great work from everyone. As always, thanks to the fans for the amazing support. We now go again for more!! +3 [clapping and arm flexing emoji]."

Then, Martinez posted on his Instagram story; he uploaded a picture of himself holding a 'Yerba-mate' alongside Ugarte in the dressing room. A 'Yerba-mate' is a popular herbal drink native to South America, commonly consumed by players before and after matches.

Nevertheless, Martinez wasn't impressed by the tea, which was made by his teammate. Captioning his post, the Argentina international wrote: "Very good those mates, friend [throwing up, crying with laughter and clapping emojis]."

Ugarte also marked the Leicester win with a celebratory post on Instagram. He wrote: "Necessary win. Thank you all for your support at home. Let’s keep it going. This is Old Trafford."

Speaking to reporters after the game, Van Nistelrooy was asked what the future holds, with Ruben Amorim taking charge during the international break. The interim United boss said: "First of all, it was a special period, it is still. I called it an important period because I think it was important to get through the four games as good as we could.

"I think we’ve done very well so far, the players reacted very well in the games. Obviously the focus is now to build on that and show that on Sunday with a big game ahead and a massive three points that are there to win.

"So, yeah, I don’t know if it will be very emotional. I take it very pragmatic as well, although I’m very proud to be able to fulfil this. We’ll see how that will feel on Sunday and other than that, there’s not much more news than yesterday evening where I think Ruben and I are both focusing on our teams and our games.

"He’s focusing on Braga with his team and I’m focusing on Leicester with my team. We’ll see if things come together in the future," added Van Nistelrooy. "I knew that coming to Man Utd was for me a special occasion where I felt I want to be part of this journey with the club, in an assistant role.

"I have clear ambitions to manage. I made the decision to sign a two-year deal as an assistant and I’m still in that frame of mind, to be fair, to stay in that capacity."
