Mike Tyson may be in stellar shape for a 58-year-old, but Father Time still waits for no man. The Hall of Fame former heavyweight champion dropped a one-sided unanimous decision to Jake Paul, 27, on Friday at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, losing nearly every round on the scorecards and very much looking like an older man fighting someone more than three decades his junior.

In the end, the three ringside judges scored it 80-72, 79-73, and 79-73 for Paul, giving the YouTuber turned pugilist another living legend on his résumé. Because the bout was a sanctioned professional contest, the result will now go on both fighters' official professional records.

Tyson (50-7, 44 KOs) slowed significantly after the opening round and by the end Paul (11-1, 7 KOs) appeared content to ride out the decision and not inflict further punishment on his aging foe.

Post-fight, Tyson indicated that he may compete in boxing again despite the loss.

In the much-anticipated co-featured bout, Katie Taylor (24-1, 6 KOs) once again defeated Amanda Serrano (47-3-1, 31 KOs) in an instant classic marred by divisive scorecards. Ireland's Taylor, 38, took at trio of 95-94 scores over Puerto Rico's Serrano, 36, to win a split decision and defend her super lightweight titles in another Fight of the Year contender.

Taylor won a split decision (97-93, 96-94, 94-96) over Serrano in their first meeting as well, an April 2022 thriller which served as the first women's boxing bout to headline Madison Square Garden and was widely praised as 2022's Fight of the Year.

A three-punch combination lands for Paul, and Tyson counters with a left hook. Paul looks to be trying to finish Tyson in the eighth but is unable (or unwilling) to do so.

Tyson and Paul go the eight-round distance. Paul was dominant throughout and that wasn't a fight that we really needed to see. Tyson showed some good defense at times and tried to throw power shots but was miles out.

    10-9 Paul, 80-72 Paul.

  • Tyson vs. Paul - Round 6

Paul outboxing Tyson with the jab. Every time Tyson attempts to get close so he can land a punch, his legs let him down and Paul manages to move away from the attack Tyson is trying to launch. It's sad to see Tyson fighting at 58 and boxing like a shell of what he once was.

    10-9 Paul, 60-54 Paul.

  • Tyson vs. Paul - Round 5

Paul lands a 1-2 on Tyson early in the fifth and immediately follows it up with the same combination, except the second punch this time is a right uppercut. Paul and Tyson trade left hooks up close, Tyson's seemed more powerful. Overhand right from Paul to close the round.

  • Tyson vs. Paul - Round 2

Tyson is swinging and missing from out of punching range. His feet aren't quick enough to close the distance on Paul. Paul landed a solid left hook earlier in the round, and dominated the remainder with a firm jab. As long as Paul keeps moving and keeps the fight at long range, he should have the edge.

    10-9 Paul, 20-18 Paul.

Tyson attempts to close the distance with his famous movement. They both trade right hands in the first 40 seconds, Paul's lands first but Tyson responds with his own seconds later. • Main event next: Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul

58-year-old Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs) clashes with the 31 years younger Jake Paul (10-1, 7 KOs) in front of 70,000 fans at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Tyson vs. Paul will be contested over eight two-minute rounds and the boxers will wear 14-ounce gloves.

Tyson hasn't stepped into the ring since his exhibition with Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, and that fight was after a 15-year layoff.

This is expected to be the most-watched boxing event of the 21st century in the United States.

  • Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul prediction

200-plus pounds: Jake Paul (-210) vs. Mike Tyson (+170)

Embrace the chaos, folks. What more needs to be said?

This matchup revolves exclusively around the unknown and one question that can't be answered until fight night: Do Tyson's skills supersede his age of 58? If the iconic puncher can get over the proverbial hump that is Father Time, Paul has no hope outside of a big shot.

This is still "Iron Mike" we're talking about.

Although Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs) hasn't fought in a pro bout since his 2005 loss to Kevin McBride, he did return for an equally bizarre 2020 exhibition against fellow legend Roy Jones Jr. While Tyson looked solid in that match and would have won had a winner been determinable, it was against a 51-year-old Jones. The same Jones lost a majority decision to former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis in 2023.

Paul's best asset in boxing is his power. He's worked on his fundamentals gradually over his 11 matches (10-1, 7 KOs). We won't kid ourselves and say his competition has proven he's a future world champion or anything. It has not, and the glaring evidence of that is his lone loss, a split decision to mediocre boxer Tommy Fury in February 2023.

Speed and every other physical advantage goes to Paul by default of his youth. The eight two-minute rounds and 14-ounce gloves might do Tyson somewhat of a favor. He has to last long enough for that to matter, though.

The stage is set for a big knockout on either end. Flip a coin between incredible happiness and sadness. Power is the last thing to go and it will have to be Tyson's saving grace as we've seen Paul hurt by lesser knockout artists, albeit minimally. Unfortunately for the integrity of the sport and its legends, we'll have to take the realistic outcome. And that's a Paul knockout.

  • Taylor vs. Serrano - Round 10

A tremendous, all-action fight. Serrano connects with a hard left hook/right hand at the end of Round 10. Taylor answers with a right hand. The second half of this fight has just been non-stop trading between the pair. The first fight was a Fight of the Year contender, the second may also be. We must see a third fight!

    10-9 Serrano, 95-94 Taylor.

  • Taylor vs. Serrano - Round 9

For the last few rounds, it has been Taylor pushing Serrano back and landing the cleaner power punches. Serrano's head was rocked back with a right hand form Taylor. Her punches don't have the same impact anymore.

    10-9 Taylor 86-84 Taylor.
