Slavisa Jokanovic has used him sparingly throughout the season at Craven Cottage, notching 23 appearances, with many from the bench.

But his attacking play – which drew comparisons with Gareth Bale’s development at Tottenham – has seen a plethora of top-flight clubs interested in his services.

He scored twice against promotion-bound Newcastle at St James’ Park on the weekend, inciting further interest in the England U19s star.

And it seems as though Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has won the race to bring Sessegnon to Anfield, fending off competition from Arsenal, Everton and Spurs.
