Liverpool boss Arne Slot gives clear Arsenal and Chelsea Premier League title race verdict
Liverpool boss Arne Slot has explained why he is wary of the threat Arsenal and Chelsea pose in the Premier League title race.
Both the Gunners and the Blues claimed important wins in the top flight at the weekend. Arsenal ran out 5-2 winners over West Ham in the London derby, while Chelsea beat Aston Villa 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.
The wins saw both Arsenal and Chelsea remain nine points behind leaders Liverpool in the table, who beat fellow title rivals Manchester City at the weekend.

Mikel Arteta's side are second in the Premier League table and level on points with Enzo Maresca's Chelsea with 13 fixtures played. Arsenal will face Manchester United on Wednesday night while the Blues will take on Southampton this week.
There are still 25 league matches left to play, but Liverpool have been listed as the favourites for the title with their nine-point lead over Arsenal and Chelsea and 11-point advantage over Man City. Despite the points gap, Slot has explained why he believes the Gunners and the Blues are two of Liverpool's main challengers for the title.
"It's not that special for us to be on top of the Premier League or Champions League," Slot told reporters on Tuesday morning via the Liverpool Echo.
"This club, this team, these players are used to being top of the league and competing for every trophy. They have experienced this.
"They also know it's a long season and to win the league against the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and [Manchester] City - because I see those three as our main competitors - that you have to be on top of our game for 10 months. We've seen the quality of the three already and know we have to stay on top of our game.
"We now face Newcastle who beat Arsenal and Chelsea at home, and drew with City. They don't need me to tell them how tough a game it will be."
