Liverpool have continued to bolster their backroom staff under head coach Arne Slot - with another new arrival on the way. The Reds have been overhauling their coaching and medical operation since Jurgen Klopp announced his summer departure as manager at the start of the year.

And the latest appointment sees David Breen come in from rugby union team Harlequins as Liverpool's new first-team rehabilitation physiotherapist.

Breen is a former Limerick hurler who won the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship in 2016. The 39-year-old, who has also been working as physio with the Republic of Ireland national team, has previously been employed by the academies of both Manchester City and Celtic, along with rugby union teams Munster, Leinster and Wasps.

And there is another imminent change in Liverpool's backroom staff with former Feyenoord first-team analyst Roderick Van der Ham set to once again link up with Slot.

Van der Ham worked with the Liverpool boss at the Dutch side and last week announced he was leaving the club, with Anfield his next destination.

“Last week, my time at Feyenoord officially came to an end," he said. "A huge thank you to all my colleagues and players for the memories we made together at this fantastic club!

"With hopes of creating even more unforgettable memories, it’s time to move on!”
