Liverpool have reportedly offered all of Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk new contracts.

The trio, arguably the club’s most important players, will all see their current deals expire at the end of the season.

Much has been made about their respective futures despite an otherwise hugely positive season for the Merseyside giants.

New head coach Arne Slot has enjoyed a fine start to life in the Anfield dugout and sees his side sitting pretty atop both the Premier League and Champion League tables.

Salah has been in stunning form all season and recently revealed he was yet to have spoken to the club about the prospect of a new contract.

“Well, we are almost in December and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay in the club,” said the forward after last month’s win at Southampton. “I’m probably more out than in.

“You know I have been in the club for many years. There is no club like this. But in the end it is not in my hands. As I said before, it is December and I haven’t received anything yet about my future.”

Club captain Van Dijk, meanwhile, has previously stated he would be keen to extend his stay at the club by at least another two years.

“At both teams [Liverpool and the Netherlands] I am still Virgil van Dijk, the big leader!” he said back in September.

“And I certainly want to remain that for the next two years. I am human, I have emotions too. You start thinking all kinds of things. Especially just after a game like the elimination (by England) in the very last minute.

Defender Alexander-Arnold has been linked with a move to Real Madrid too, although The Athletic claim all three have now received contract offers.

They also state that the latest development does not necessarily guarantee the trio will stay.

Liverpool are back in action on Tuesday with a Champions League trip to Girona after Saturday’s Merseyside derby at Everton was postponed due to Storm Darragh hitting the UK.
