Liverpool handed huge injury update as Alisson Becker timeline becomes clear
Liverpool have been handed a timely injury boost ahead of this weekend's trip to Southampton as Alisson Becker returned to training on Tuesday afternoon.
The Brazilian has been out of action since suffering a hamstring complaint during the Reds' 1-0 win at Crystal Palace on October 5, with Caoimhin Kelleher deputising for the 32-year-old in the weeks since.
However, Alisson, who stepped up his recovery at the AXA Training Centre during the international break, made his return to training five days before Sunday's trip to St Mary's.
Footage released by Liverpool shows the Brazilian and Mohamed Salah - who was left out of Egypt's squad for their recent internationals - involved in a training session with the club's under-21s squad.

In the video shared on social media, Alisson can be seen making his way back into the Reds' AXA Centre after a session outside, with the Brazilian equipped with his boots and goalkeeper gloves.
At this stage, it is uncertain how involved Alisson was in the session, though the sight of the Brazilian back on the grass in whichever capacity it occurred will be a welcome sight for the Reds.
Despite Kelleher's heroics since replacing Alisson last month, Arne Slot has already confirmed that the Brazilian will resume his position as No.1 when he returns to full fitness.
Speaking after Liverpool's 2-0 win against Aston Villa on November 9, Slot said: "First of all, Alisson needs to become fit and I’ve always been quite clear and that’s always been the position of Alisson that he is, and will be, our first goalkeeper if he is fit.
“But therefore he first needs to be fit, but Caoimhin [Kelleher] has done outstanding last season and this season again as well. But the moment Alisson will be fit he will be our first goalkeeper.”
