Liverpool have been handed an update regarding the future of Eintracht Frankfurt star Omar Marmoush. The Egypt international has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield in recent weeks ahead of the January transfer window.

Marmoush signed for Frankfurt in the summer of 2023 on a free transfer after leaving Wolfsburg. The 25-year-old has now scored 13 goals in 15 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit, with such form leading to intense speculation surrounding his long-term future.

Reports in recent weeks have claimed that Liverpool are interested in signing Marmoush, with suggestions an offer could be made in January, if not next summer. Now, an update has emerged which may provide the Reds hope that they could sign Marmoush in the near future.

According to The Sunday Express, Marmoush is keen to move to the Premier League should an offer be made in the months ahead. The report claims that Liverpool will have competition from Bayern Munich for the signing of the Egypt international, but Marmoush's desire to play in English football's top flight may give the Reds the edge over rival clubs.

Liverpool may also have another advantage in the race to sign Marmoush. It has been claimed that the forward has a desire to play alongside compatriot Mohamed Salah, which could give the Reds extra hope of agreeing a deal, provided the reported interest is genuine.

It remains to be seen if Frankfurt will be willing to sanction Marmoush's exit mid-season, or wait until the end of the campaign. various reports have claimed to reveal the asking price for the Bundesliga club, with many suggesting that a fee worth between €50 million (£41.5 million) and €60 million (£50 million) may be accepted.
