Liverpool injury news and return dates as Andy Robertson offers update before Darwin Nunez latest
Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has confirmed that the knock which saw him taken off against Wolves over the weekend was only a very minor issue and he expects to be available for the midweek visit of Bologna in the Champions League.
Arne Slot will deliver a full injury update in his press conference tomorrow ahead of that Wednesday European game with Harvey Elliott the only other player sidelined at the moment with a foot issue. The 21-year-old sustained that in the last international break and might not be back for another month or so.
Darwin Nunez missed the trip to Wolves because he was ill and it remains to be seen whether or not he will be back in time for the next fixture. Liverpool will undertake an open training session tomorrow which should offer a clue.
Liverpool's next 5 fixtures compared to Man City and Arsenal as Arne Slot knows title truth coming
Liverpool has avoided major mistake Manchester United has never recovered from
"I think everybody is realistic enough," Slot said after his side beat Wolves. "All the players have so much experience that they understand six games into the season doesn't give you a realistic view on the league table. That is more like in 19 games then you can really feel, 'OK, where are we?'.
"But of course, it helps if you get some good results, especially if you bring in a new manager and a new staff and being a successor of such a successful one. Of course, everybody understands that if we'd have lost four or five out of these first six fixtures that life would have been a bit different than it is."
Liverpool.com says: Things have gone well for the Reds so far this season but having Elliott available could have made a difference in the dismal Nottingham Forest defeat. Someone with a bit more guile and creativity in the final third was required and he was missing when he would have been the perfect substitute at the very least.
