Liverpool postponement gifts Arsenal title boost and points guarantee amid Storm Darragh issues
Liverpool's match with Everton has been postponed giving Arsenal the chance to close the gap for the second round of Premier League matches in a row. Due to the high winds of Storm Darragh, authorities have taken the decision to cancel what will be the last league Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.
The two sides will now see the game rescheduled for later in the season - while the red and blue halves of the city are given a weekend off. Arsenal meanwhile travel only a few miles across the capital to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham.
Other title rivals, Manchester City and Chelsea, are also in London, as they take on Crystal Palace and Tottenham. With all four sides playing away from their home grounds, there was hope that Mikel Arteta might indeed be able to incur another point gain on his adversaries.

That will now be guaranteed should they win at Fulham on Sunday afternoon following the postponement in the northwest. After their win over Manchester United, on Wednesday evening, the Gunners saw the nine-point lead drop to seven after Arne Slot's team conceded a late goal at Newcastle.
The gap will now drop to just four should Arsenal manage to reverse the result of last season. In what was a very disappointing performance, Arteta knows that this will be far from a guaranteed victory and a tough challenge.
The Cottagers won comfortably in midweek to build their own momentum. They can close the gap to Arsenal to just three points after an impressive start to the campaign.
