What Liverpool supporters 'weren't even bothered' about has delighted Arne Slot
Arne Slot admits Liverpool still have reason to fine-tune their game despite an outstanding start to the season. But the Reds boss believes the reaction of the Anfield crowd during the win over Aston Villa was the biggest positive from the weekend.
Slot became the quickest manager to reach 15 wins in all competitions in the Premier League era when Liverpool earned a 2-0 home triumph on Saturday evening.
As well as moving five points clear at the top of the table, the Reds are also leading the Champions League table with four wins from four and are into the League Cup quarter-finals.

Slot's side were made to work hard for the victory with Villa proving obdurate opponents. But while urging his side to show more patience in possession, the Reds boss was impressed with the manner in which the Anfield support are now accepting the increasingly controlled approach from their team after several years of high-octane football under previous boss Jurgen Klopp.
"Aston Villa gave us the ball a lot and they didn't have the intention to step out or press us really high," he said. "In my opinion, in the first half we were still too impatient, we lost the ball too many times, but the good thing is our centre-backs and defenders were incredible in stopping their counter-attacks.
"Second half we were a bit more controlled, and the good thing that I liked maybe the most was our fans weren't even bothered by that, they just kept on singing. I don't know if they liked what they saw, but they liked we were 1-0 up and top of the league, and they helped us in that period of time as well.
"Villa constantly threatened us with their set-pieces. They are a very strong team when it comes to set-pieces and every time they were waiting for us to lose the ball in midfield with the fast attackers they have it's always a threat. But we were patient in controlling the game, but it wasn't an easy one."
Liverpool kept only 10 clean sheets in the Premier League last season but in 11 top-flight games this term have already achieved six shut-outs. They were indebted against Villa to a brace of good saves from goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher and fine performances from centre-backs Virgil van Dijk and, in particular, Ibrahima Konate.
"The whole team stops a lot of attacks from the other team, the work-rate from the attackers and midfielders is incredible," said Slot, speaking to LFC TV. "Then if they (the opposition) are able to play through that, they see two incredible centre-backs which they have to get past. And if they get past both of those there's still a goalkeeper they come up against and again he had one or two incredible saves."
