Liverpool vs LASK LIVE! Europa League result, match stream and latest updates today

Liverpool eased into the Europa League round of 16 with a game to spare after an emphatic 4-0 home win over Austria's LASK in Group E on Thursday.

The Premier League side moved on to 12 points and will top the standings after second-placed Toulouse were held to a goalless draw at home by Union Saint Gilloise.

Luis Diaz put Liverpool ahead after 12 minutes with a header from Joe Gomez's cross and Cody Gapko's tap-in doubled the lead three minutes later.

Mohamed Salah's penalty made it 3-0 early in the second half and Gapko added his second in stoppage time to complete the rout.

As such, the Reds will avoid the round of 32 where second-placed teams have to meet a Champions League dropout. Instead, they can rotate for their trip to Union SG next month and worry about the rest of the competition when the round of 16 takes place in March,

Klopp 'did not like' elements of Liverpool's win over LASK

22:54 , Jonathan Gorrie

Jurgen Klopp admitted he was not best pleased with the manner of Liverpool’s finishing during their 4-0 win over LASK on Thursday night.

Luis Diaz opened the scoring at Anfield in the 11th minute of action before Cody Gakpo scored the first of his brace and Mohamed Salah bagged a penalty to reach 199 goals for the club.

Gakpo’s late second ensured Liverpool have won all ten of their home games this season ahead of the visit of Fulham on Sunday.

Still, despite the four-goal haul, Klopp was not particularly impressed with his team’s wastefulness in front of goal.

Liverpool eased into the Europa League knockout stages as group winners with a routine over LASK on Thursday night.

While the loss to Toulouse before the international break raised the distant worry of some jeopardy in progressing from Group E, early goals from Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo set the Reds back on course.

With Toulouse drawing in Belgium against Union SG, the Anfield giants know they cannot be overtaken on the final matchday.

Liverpool vs LASK: Score prediction

17:32 , Jonathan Gorrie

Liverpool will have their eyes firmly fixed on top spot in Group E, meaning they will qualify directly for the last-16 and not have to worry about a knockout play-off fixture in the New Year.

The surprise defeat in France will have wounded Klopp's men, who will be eager to restate their credentials as arguably the best team in this competition against opponents who sit bottom of the group with only one win to their name so far.

It is very hard to look past a comfortable Liverpool victory back at fortress Anfield, where the crowd have been urged to play their part.

Liverpool to win, 3-0.

Liverpool team news vs LASK: Alisson and Jota out

17:31 , Jonathan Gorrie

Klopp has confirmed that Liverpool will be without both Alisson and Jota for the games ahead after their respective injuries sustained against City.

Alisson should return at some stage in December with his hamstring issue not as serious as first feared but still "bad enough" according to the boss, though Jota's problem is worse and it remains to be seen at this stage when he will return.

Andy Robertson is still recovering from shoulder surgery, while midfielders Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic remain sidelined.
