Magpies 'hopeful' striker will face Boro
WAYNE Robinson could return from injury when Dorchester travel to Gosport later this evening.
The Magpies striker missed the 1-1 draw with Bracknell Town on Saturday after sustaining a knee injury in training last week.
However, Magpies boss Tom Killick said the forward may return when the team travel to Privet Park tonight.
He said: "We missed Wayne on Saturday with a knee problem but hopefully he will be fit.
"Every squad can cope with injuries but without Shaq (Gwengwe) and Wayne it has meant we are light on options going forward."
Gwenge is currently serving a four match ban for a red card in the FA Trophy defeat to AFC Totton and will again be missing against Gosport.
Therefore Robinson's return will be a welcome one if he passes fit for the trip to Hampshire.
But with goals at a premium lately, Killick is hoping to get all of his striker's back sooner rather than later, and hopes Gwengwe's ban can be turned into an advantage.
He added: "You always feel aggrieved when its not deserved (Gwengwe sending off) but we have two more games to tick off before he is back.
"But maybe it can give him a chance to reset and recover both physically and mentally, and we can use it to our advantage when he is back playing."
In the absence of both striker's, Olaf Koszela was partnered with Luke Roberts in the 1-1 draw with Bracknell on Saturday and impressed Killick on his first start.
It is likely that Roberts could again partner Koszela in attack when the teams line up at Privet Park.
One thing that is for sure is that Gosport will be provide yet again another difficult away trip.
Despite their league position, Killick knows it will not be easy, but wants the team to try and turn their recent run of results around with a win.
He said: "Gosport have not started as well as they would have liked and I expect by the end of the season they will be in a much higher league position.
""They have good players with experience and it is another game where we have to get something to set us up for the next two home games, although against tough opposition.
"The latest run of results has not been great and we need to turn that around sooner rather than later."
Gosport will be buoyed by their own recent results though having beaten Poole Town 3-1 away from home and 5-1 win over Taunton in the FA Trophy.
Although, on Friday night the Hampshire club were two goals behind against Totton before a power cut saw the game abandoned.
Kick off at Privet Park is on Wednesday, November 12 at 7.45pm
