United are continuing to be linked with a move for Sporting Lisbon forward Geovany Quenda. According to Portuguese news outlet A Bola, United are pressing ahead to try and sign Quenda to add to Amorim's squad.
The report claims that United want to swiftly reach an agreement with Sporting to sign Quenda. United will reportedly submit an offer in excess of €40million (£33.5million), although it remains to be seen if Sporting will stand firm with a fee closer to the player's release clause of €100million (£83million).
Reports elsewhere have previously claimed that United will face competition from Newcastle and Chelsea for Quenda's signature. The 17-year-old has scored two goals with two assists in 18 appearances for Sporting this season.
Elsewhere, United are being linked with a move for Galatasaray forward Yunus Akgun. According to Turkish news outlet Sabah, Amorim wanted to sign Akgun during his time as Sporting manager and is now looking to bring the player to Old Trafford.
The report claims that United are continuing to scout Akgun ahead of the January transfer window. Akgun, 24, has scored six goals with two assists across 16 appearances for Galatasaray this season.
